    Materials Glossary

    BLEACHED KRAFT:
An untreated white sheet most commonly used for bread and merchandise bags. This economical sheet can be waxed to provide grease and moisture barriers.
    NATURAL KRAFT:
An untreated natural brown sheet, interchangeable with Bleached Kraft. Hue can vary greatly and will affect the color of inks printed on it.
    GREASE RESISTANT- LIGHT WEIGHT:
Chemically treated for grease resistance, this white paper is ideal for French fry bags, sandwich bags and flat wraps. It is also available in some Natural Kraft grades.
    GREASE RESISTANT- MEDIUM WEIGHT:
Perfect for pizza and breadstick bags, this white paper is designed for a higher level of grease resistance. Use it where extra strength and moisture barrier properties are required. It is also available in Natural, although minimum rates may apply.
    GREASE AND MOISTURE RESISTANT:
Medium weight grades are chemically treated for both grease and moisture resistance. This paper is great for preventing steam or moisture-laden ingredients from compromising package integrity.
    LAMINATED SANDWICH WRAP:
A spot laminated paper sheet with heat retention properties that rival foil. A great moisture vapor barrier with pockets to trap steam. Excellent as an economical replacement for foil sandwich wraps. It is also known as Quilt.
    DRY WAX:
This sheet derives its name from the process with which it is produced. Coated lightly on one side with wax, its grease and moisture barrier properties make it perfect for wraps.
    FOIL:
Available in solid and spot laminations, foil offers barrier properties, dead fold and heat retention. Hot dog bags, sandwich bags and wraps all work well in light weight grades, while heavier solid laminates lend themselves to garlic bread bags and therma-sacks.
    POLY-WAX COATED:
Primarily used for wraps, this sheet is coated on one side with a slick, poly-wax blend. In addition to its grease and moisture barrier qualities, it also offers release properties.
